In this workshop, learn some beautiful, signature Elysium moves in a combination, and with these learn how to explore different options for musicality, expression and performance options through a series of explorations of characters, emotions and stories.
Ma'isah will bring you together in an impromptu 'tribe' and introduce different styles and techniques together with artistic choices to explore a range of unique archetypes and stories as we shed and adorn ourselves with different skins. Leave your expectations at the door and come ready to play dress up with dance and music

Ma'isah Biography
​
Ma’isah is a unique Australian dark fusion dancer, creating her own dark fusion/tribal inspired dance format, ‘˜Elysium: Fusion dance for the ethereal soul,’ as well as the annual group performance projects ‘PseudoSkirt’ and ‘ShimmySkirt’ that involves over 100 dancers in performances at major dance events across Australia each year.

As an ex-pat Aussie in New York in 1999, she fell in love with belly dance and from the beginning adapted this to create and explore her own style of dark/gothic belly dance. Moving home to Australia in 2001, over the years has continued to dance and explore and incorporated key principals of ATS and tribal influences with her Egyptian dance foundation and her love of gothic, ethereal and neo-classical music to create ‘Elysium’.
